BOSWELLIA / INGREDIENT RESEARCH

Heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding

Potential benefit studied: Possible improvement in bleeding duration and quality of life

Supporting research

Small randomized add-on human trial · Reviewed 9 September 2026

WHAT THE RESEARCH FOUND

A randomized human trial found that frankincense alongside ibuprofen shortened bleeding duration and improved quality-of-life scores.

WHO, WHAT & HOW LONG

The trial randomized 102 women to frankincense, ginger or placebo; everyone also received ibuprofen. Frankincense was given at 300 mg three times daily for the first seven days of bleeding during two consecutive menstrual cycles.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR ROB’S CHOICE

This add-on trial used a different frankincense regimen from Mobility's 100 mg Boswellia at 30% AKBA with moringa. It does not demonstrate menstrual benefits or reduced blood loss with the finished formula.

The doses above describe research, not personal dosing instructions. Ingredient studies do not diagnose symptoms or establish medical suitability. Discuss medicines, existing conditions and treatment decisions with an appropriate healthcare professional.
