WHAT THE RESEARCH FOUND

A randomized placebo-controlled trial found that curcumin with fennel essential oil reduced IBS symptoms and abdominal pain while improving quality of life.

WHO, WHAT & HOW LONG

In a randomized, placebo-controlled trial, 121 people with mild-to-moderate IBS received a curcumin–fennel essential oil combination or placebo for 30 days. Researchers measured overall symptom severity, abdominal pain and quality of life.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR ROB’S CHOICE

The tested combination differs from Longevity and included fennel essential oil. This study cannot establish that Longevity or curcumin alone relieves IBS, and suitability for someone with recurring bowel symptoms remains unknown.

The doses above describe research, not personal dosing instructions. Ingredient studies do not diagnose symptoms or establish medical suitability. Discuss medicines, existing conditions and treatment decisions with an appropriate healthcare professional.
