Memory and attention concerns with ageing

Potential benefit studied: Changes in memory, attention and cognitive scores

WHAT THE RESEARCH FOUND

An 18-month placebo-controlled human trial found that a bioavailable curcumin formulation improved selected memory and attention measures in adults without dementia.

WHO, WHAT & HOW LONG

Forty adults without dementia received Theracurmin containing 90 mg curcumin twice daily or placebo for 18 months, with memory and attention measured throughout.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR ROB’S CHOICE

Longevity has not been evaluated for cognitive outcomes. The studied absorption systems and populations differ, so its curcumin amount cannot establish memory benefits, dementia prevention or suitability for a particular cognitive concern.

The doses above describe research, not personal dosing instructions. Ingredient studies do not diagnose symptoms or establish medical suitability. Discuss medicines, existing conditions and treatment decisions with an appropriate healthcare professional.
