Supporting research

Human adjunctive-treatment trials · Reviewed 9 September 2026

WHAT THE RESEARCH FOUND

When added to mesalamine, curcumin produced more clinical remissions and stronger symptom improvement in people with active ulcerative colitis.

WHO, WHAT & HOW LONG

A trial added 3 g daily curcumin or placebo to mesalamine in 50 patients with active ulcerative colitis for one month.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR ROB’S CHOICE

The studies tested particular regimens in medically diagnosed ulcerative colitis, not Longevity. Its final curcumin amount cannot establish the same results, and the finished product’s effectiveness and suitability for this condition remain unknown.

The doses above describe research, not personal dosing instructions. Ingredient studies do not diagnose symptoms or establish medical suitability. Discuss medicines, existing conditions and treatment decisions with an appropriate healthcare professional.
